25 | An inspection was conducted the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA Snow) who met with Teacher Francis Clark. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. The staff of this program have criminal record and health clearances as a condition of employment. This is a Title 5 funded program located on the Buckeye Elementary School campus in room 5. The facility operates two half-day programs (separate morning and afternoon sessions), Monday-Friday. This facility operates the morning session from 8AM to 11:30AM.
The facility was toured inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan were verified. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were inaccessible to children. There were no poisons observed in the facility; they are locked in the janitors’ closet. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors (drinking fountain) and outdoors (jug and cups). The children's bathrooms appeared in safe and sanitary condition. A current menu was posted. Food is prepared in the school's cafeteria. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. There is wood chip cushioning underneath climbing structures and/or play equipment enough to absorb falls. |
