13 | On 10/24/23 at 12:15pm, a closing complaint investigation visit was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cunningham. It has been alleged that children with contagious illness are allowed to attend; specifically, children have been observed with red irritated eyes. It was also alleged that staff do not ensure the infant room is free of insects; specifically, staff do not sufficiently clean a room after finding fleas on a child. The licensee and director denied all the allegations and stated they check on all the classrooms throughout the day and do not recall seeing children with red eyes or fleas in the classroom. LPA conducted interviews with six staff (S1, S3, S4, S5, S6, and S7) on 8/18/23, 9/29/23, and 10/20/23 and seven parents (P2-P8) on 8/16/23 and 9/27/23, and there were no disclosures. Staff and parent interviews did not corroborate the allegations. No children interviews were conducted due to some children were not verbal, too young to interview, not available, or did not qualify to be interviewed. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the office manager. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were provided. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
