25 | An Annual Random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. This is a combination center. The inspection was made in conjunction with the preschool and school-age programs. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on 5/17/2019 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility operates during the migrant season, Monday - Friday; 5:00am - 5:00pm. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and there were 11 infants supervised by 5 teachers and 15 toddlers supervised by 4 teachers. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents and cleaning compounds) were inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in janitorial closets and cabinets located throughout the facility. Medications are inaccessible to children. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe for infants and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The changing tables have at least 3" sides and sanitary vinyl pads that are at least 1" thick. There was sufficient napping equipment (port-a-cribs/cribs and mats) available that meet requirements. Current menus are posted on bulletin boards. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The infant and toddler playgrounds were free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. No bodies of water were observed. At least one staff member present during the inspection (S#1) possessed current CPR/First Aid certifications. The sign in/out procedures are in substantial compliance. Ten children's records were reviewed at 12:00pm and contained medical assessments, individual feeding plans for each infant and Infant Needs and Services Plans. Staff records reviewed contained documentation of education and training, as required. Site Supervisor stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. The infant/toddler program is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS).
