25 | An Annual Random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. This is a combination center. The inspection was made in conjunction with the preschool and infant/toddler programs. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the personnel report on 5/17/2019 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility operates during the migrant season, Monday - Friday; 5:00am - 5:00pm. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in a janitorial closet. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces were clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The children’s bathrooms were in safe and sanitary condition. A separate bathroom is available for staff. Current menus are posted on bulletin boards. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and free of contamination. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas were in safe condition. There are wood-chips underneath climbing structures and/or play equipment to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed. Site Supervisor stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. There were no school-age children present during today's inspection. At least one staff member present during the visit (S#1) possessed current CPR/First Aid certifications. Five children’s records were reviewed at 11:45am, and contained identification forms with authorized representative information, as well as medical assessments. Staff records were reviewed and contained health screening forms. A sign in/out procedure was in place. The school-age program is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS).
