A required inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Melchisedeck Augustin and Elpidia Hernandez Torres. A review of staff records on 08/10/2022 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently two adults living in the home.

During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee and volunteer were supervising seven children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 07:00AM to 06:00PM, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the front yard, back yard and three bedrooms. They were made inaccessible by door knob slip covers and door locking mechanisms. The home was clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire in 2023. Licensee had AB 1207 Mandated reporter certificate on file which expires in 2023. Licensee did not furnish evidence to prove that a disaster drill had been conducted within 6 months. A previous licensing report was issued on 08/31/2021 giving notice of the same violation, and as such a $250 civil penalty was assessed for a repeat violation. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were stored out of the reach of children. Licensee stated there are no poisons store on the premises. The regulation that poisons are to be locked with a key or combination lock was reviewed. The fireplace has been made inaccessible and is not in use during day care hours. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection. The back yard and front yard are not used as the outdoor play area. Licensee stated they use a local park as the outdoor play area. (Continued on 809-C)
