25 | On 4/6/23 at 2:40 PM, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Helton. At 3:12 PM the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee and assistant were supervising 8 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday, and occasionally on Saturday for some families that need it. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the upstairs, and were made inaccessible by baby gate. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There is a in ground/above ground, pool in the back yard. The pool is fully fenced with self latching Title 22 approved fencing. 5 children's records were reviewed at 2:49 PM. 2 staff records were reviewed at 2:59.
There are currently 5 adults living in the home. The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.
