25 | An annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Elpidia Hernandez Torres. A review of staff records indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently two adults living in the home.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee's assistant and daughter were supervising 11 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 07:00AM to 05:30PM, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the laundry room, garage, entire second floor, balcony, and side back yard and were made inaccessible by child safety gates, and door knob slip covers. The home was clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee's assistant and daughter have current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire on September 10, 2021. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were stored out of the reach of children. Licensee's assistant stated there are no poisons on the premises. The staircase is barricaded with a child safety gate. The electrical furnace has been made inaccessible with a child safety gate. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The licensee's assistant stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed in the yard. Two children's records were reviewed at 11:23 AM; required emergency information was observed to be on file. Infant Sleep Log was observed to be kept, and up-to-date. At approximately 11:30 AM LPA requested personnel records, at which time licensee's assistant was unable to provide them. Licensee was unable to direct assistant as to where the files could be found.
