32 | Staff also reported they check infants diapers before pick up time so they go home with a dry diaper, but there has been a few instances where a child was dry before pick up and they walk out the facility and guardian walks back in to ask center to change their diaper. Staff corroborated this has happened a few times and they have obliged with changing the infants’ diapers. Staff stated the infants that typically run out of clean clothes are those who are potty training, and it is those same infants who typically soil their diapers as they are getting picked up. Staff corroborated to their knowledge they have not intentionally sent a child home with a soiled diaper or wrong size clothes. One staff stated they did accidentally place a child in their siblings’ clothes but it was an accident and they contacted the guardian to let them know of the mistake the following day.
Four guardians were interviewed on 05/31/2022, and 06/17/2022. All guardians stated they are required to bring extra clothes and diapers for their infants and are reminded at pick up time if infant is running low or needs more items. Some guardians stated their infant had been returned with clothes that was not theirs. One guardian corroborated that the center did call them a few times before when their child has run out of clean clothes, but they don’t have an issue with the facility placing back up clothes on the child. Another guardian reported their infant had been picked up with their sibling’s clothes on which was very small, and that staff apologized the next day. One guardian stated on a few occasions, they have picked up the infant, and the infant was soiled and they have walked infant back to the facility and asked they changed the infant’s diaper and center did change the infant’s diaper.
