25 | An Annual/Random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Leticia Rosales-Meza. A review of staff records on 12/18/19 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The Licensee requested a capacity increase to operate as a Large Family Child Care Home. An increase of capacity application was received on July 31, 2019, requesting a capacity of 14 children. The facility was granted a fire clearance by the Solano Fire Marshall on 10/22/19. There are currently four adults living in the home. There were five children in care at the time of inspection. Fees are current.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee was supervising five children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Sunday - Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are two bedrooms, and garage and were made inaccessible by door knob covers. The home was observed to be clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature of 70 degree Fahrenheit. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. The licensee stated there is a working telephone in the home. The licensee’s pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications were reviewed, and expire on 10/2021, and assistant's CPR and First Aid expire on 03/2020 Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Latches are used underneath the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Licensee stated there are no poisons in the home. The requirement that poisons be locked using a key or combination lock is reviewed. The fireplace has been made inaccessible with a screen. The Licensee stated the fire box is free of ashes and the fireplace is not used at all. The LPA observed a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The roster of children in care was reviewed and was current. |
