25 | The facility inspection was conducted on site, however due to the Covid-19 state of emergency pandemic, LPA (Licensing Program Analyst) Glenn Ouye spent only the required time in the facility to conduct a physical plant inspection. LPA Ouye advised Manuela Jacques that the report will be drafted off site and a copy will be sent to her.
LPA measured the indoor and outdoor area of the facility. The program operations and staff are relocating from a different site and will remain in unchanged. There are two rooms that will be used for the center. Rooms 27 and 17. The total square footage for both classrooms and the outdoor play area is sufficient to support the 48 child requested capacity.
There are two toilets and three sinks between rooms 27 and 17, however a waiver will be used to allow children in room to share the use of the school restrooms on an as needed basis.
The are sufficient equipment and toys available for the children.
The outdoor play area has a play structure with sufficient fall protection cushioning. There is adequate shade in the outdoor play area due to mature trees near the rear fence. The facility will utilize water coolers with disposable cups for the children.
The school and this Vallejo City USD is currently closed due to Covid-19. LPA Ouye and Manuela Jacques discussed that the case assigned LPA will conduct either an in-person or televisit to cover Covid-19 protocols for the center. Ms. Jacques said that she has already spoken to LPA Augustin who informed her that he would conduct the required Covid-19 visit when the centers reopen.
The licensure is approved pending the receipt of the approved fire safety inspection. |
