25 | The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. A review of the personnel report on file indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program is operated by Extended Child Care Coalition of Sonoma County, a nonprofit agency. Staff files are stored off site at the Extended Child Care main office located at 1745 Copperhill Pkwy Ste. #5 Santa Rosa, CA 95403.
The facility currently is operating year round, Monday-Friday from 7:00 am.- 8:30 am and again from 1:15 pm - 6:00 pm. This extended care program is open full-time during the school year breaks from 7:00 am-6:00 pm and on occasion relocates to one of the other Extended Child Care sites during the summer months. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. Extended Child Care will occupy rooms #20 and #21 for the 2019-2020 school year. Room #20 and #21 were toured during today's inspection. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. Center Teacher, Vicky Cendejas stated there are no poisons stored on the premises of the center and none were observed during today's inspection. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces are clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors on the playground. The children's bathrooms are in safe and sanitary condition. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. There was no contaminated food observed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The LPA observed a working carbon monoxide detector in the facility, in both classroom #20 and #21. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas were in safe condition. There is wood chip cushioning underneath climbing structures and/or play equipment to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed. Vicky stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met, and four children were being supervised by two teachers/aides, by 2:50 pm the remaining school age children arrived and 32 children were being supervised by three teachers/aides. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity.
