25 | An unannounced case management inspection of the facility was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennifer Velasco to inspect and approve the newly remodeled facility kitchen. LPA had consulted with facility director (D1) during the inspection on 12/17/2018 and advised D1 how to ensure the well-being of children in care was not put at risk during the remodeling process. During today's inspection, LPA discussed with staff (S1) how the plan was implemented during remodeling. S1 stated tools and unfinished surfaces were rendered inaccessible to children in care by use of door locks, gates, and removal of tools during hours of care. S1 stated the floor plan of the facility was not changed during this remodeling, and no changes in the floor plan were observed during this inspection. The reconstruction included replacement and/or resurfacing of the kitchen counters and cupboards, as well as of the child-height dining counter included in the dining nook of the kitchen. Counters and cupboards were clean and free of hazards. The washing machine and dryer were also replaced as part of this remodeling, and LPA observed no visible hazards to children in care.
During today's inspection visit, there were 47 children being supervised by 11 staff. This report was read and reviewed with S1. There were no Title 22 deficiencies observed during today's inspection. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years.
