Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye arrived and met with licensee/director Cherie Still to measure her facility in support of an anticipated capacity increase. The increase of capacity is due to her receiving a notice from the property owner of her second facility (Little Oaks Montessori (493008981) that they are selling the property and that she will have to vacate the premises when the sale is completed. The licensee has a lower census due to covid-19 and some of the children from Little Oaks Montessori will move to this location. Also, the Petaluma Unified School District school starts distance learning classes on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

The licensee has submitted notification that she will utilizing the PIN20-04 blanket waiver and will provide care for school age children under her preschool center license.

The licensee will also be submitting a capacity increase application to the department to increase her overall capacity from 22 to 27 preschool age children.

LPA Ouye measured the facility and the interior square footage was 949.9133 square feet. This allows for 27 preschool age children. The exterior square footage exceeds 6500 square feet. The interior and exterior square footage will allow for the increase of capacity once the application is received and the if the fire inspection is approved for 27 preschool children. LPA Ouye will work with the licensee on the capacity increase when the application is submitted to the department.
