25 | A case management inspection was conducted at the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Y. Yang in response to an increase of capacity application received by the Department on 04/15/19. The licensee is requesting an increase in the school-age capacity from 15 to 22 children. This is a combination center with a separate preschool license. Operating hours are 06:30am-06:00pm, Monday-Friday. The "School-Age Classroom" as well as "Pre-K, School-Age Yard" will be used by the school-age children at separate times from the preschool children. The school-age classroom is physically separated from space provided for preschool children.
A fire clearance from the local fire authority was obtained for 22 children on 05/01/19. There have been no changes to the previous floor plan or outdoor yard plan. There are sufficient amount of sinks and restrooms that provide privacy. The outdoor space consisted of a school-age yard, which measured sufficiently for the requested capacity. The school-age classroom measured sufficiently for 20 children and did not meet the requested capacity of 22 school-age children.
The school-age play yard may not be be used when preschool children are using the play area. During today's visit, there were no school-age children in care. The facility was toured and inspected. No deficiencies were observed. The capacity increase is granted for 20 school-age children.
This report was reviewed and discussed with the director. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years.
