13 | LPA Velasco conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with the director (D1). It was alleged that staff failed to provide adequate supervision; specifically, that children engaged in inappropriate interactions with one another due to lack of supervision. D1 denied the allegation and stated that facility is staffed adequately and that staff provide constant visual supervision of children. Two staff (D1 and S1), one child (C5), and two adults (A11-A12) were interviewed on 09/30/2019. On 11/13/2019, one staff (S2), two children (C6-C7), and one parent (A9) were interviewed. Witness statements failed to corroborate the allegation. LPA observed staff using zone strategies and frequent communication while supervising children in the classroom and on the playground. During today’s visit, the facility was toured at 11:00 a.m., facility records were reviewed at 12:30 p.m., and staff supervision of children was observed at 11:30 a.m.. LPA observed two staff providing care and supervision to 15 children. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
