25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with Program Director Daphne Cummings because a new modular building was installed to replace the original classroom.
The facility was measured and a walk through of the interior and exterior areas of the facility was conducted.
The interior square footage of the preschool was measured to be 694 square feet.
The exterior square footage was measured to be 1802 square feet.
The facility has one toilet and two sinks for the children in care.
The director and LPA discussed that the limits of capacity are currently set because there is one toilet. It was discussed that if an additional toilet was added (if possible) that the capacity could be increased. The interior and exterior square footage does support 19 children. The facility is currently licensed for 16 children. The capacity is being decreased to 15 children.
There are sufficient toys, furniture and activity equipment for the children. There is a fire extinguisher rated at 2A10BC. The facility has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well as a new optical fire detector with sprinklers throughout the building. The facility now has a large office for staff and record keeping. There have been no programming changes.
The outdoor area was increased and the facility will use an exterior door that leads directly into the fully enclosed fence outdoor activity area. There are two water fountains for the children. There is sufficient wood chips for fall protection.
A license is issued for a capacity of 15 children. |
