During the course of the investigation, LPAs conducted interviews with the Director, two staff members, an adult, and 4 parents and reviewed records. The director and staff members stated that a rope is used when transitioning children from the classroom to the play yard through the parking lot and are always accompanied by at least one teacher or more if the capacity requires additional staffing. Although one parent stated that there is a possibility that children can run into the parking lot, all parent interviewed did not have any concerns with the facility being unsafe. LPA observations did not provide corroborating evidence of this allegation.
According to LPA, Kevin O’Connell’s observations, all admission agreements for the 2022 year were signed. One parent stated that they did not receive a copy of the admission agreement after signing it but it may have just gotten lost in the transition of the Directors. Another adult did mention that the Parent Handbook had errors and needed to be updated but overall, parents did not have any current concerns about the facility, or the allegations presented.
Based on the information gathered during this investigation, there is not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation. The allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited. This report was reviewed and discussed with the facility’s Director, Jill Pressley. Appeal rights were provided.
