25 | A case management inspection was conducted at the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Y. Yang in response to an increase of capacity application received by the Department on 07/22/19. The licensee is requesting an increase in capacity from 30 to 54 preschool age children. Operating hours are 07:30am-05:00pm, Monday-Friday. This facility is located on the premises of Fitch Mountain Elementary School.
A fire clearance from the local fire authority was obtained for the requested capacity on 07/25/19. To accommodate the capacity increase, the licensee requests that classroom #7 be added to the classrooms approved for child care use. The site supervisor stated that the kitchen and storage room in classroom #7 are off limits to children and will be made inaccessible to the children in care. There are a total of four toilets and six sinks available for the children to use in the classrooms. The outdoor space measured sufficiently for the requested capacity. Classrooms #7, #8, and #9 measured sufficiently for 54 preschool children. Indoor space for the preschool program shall be physically separated from space provided for all other programs located on the elementary school campus.
During today's visit, there were 12 preschool children in care. The facility was toured and inspected. No deficiencies were observed. This report was reviewed and discussed with the site supervisor. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years.
The following item shall be corrected before the capacity increase request is granted:
1) Licensee shall purchase and install a carbon monoxide detector in classroom #7 and submit proof to CCLD.
Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. |
