A required one year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Amy Strother. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. A review of the personnel report on file indicates that all facility staff have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee, Nicole Monachello was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This program is an infant center with a toddler component. Operating hours are 07:30am - 05:00pm, Monday-Friday, year-round. Licensee stated that the facility is no longer caring for infants as of 02/04/2022, and only operates the toddler component. Licensee further stated that she intends to close the infant license and add the toddler component on to the preschool license in the near future. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. The toddlers are physically separated in different classrooms from the preschool age children on site. The facility was clean and orderly. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were stored out of reach of the children. The Licensee stated there are no poisons stored on the premises and none were observed. The toys, floors and other equipment are clean, safe and age appropriate for toddlers. There was a nap mat available for each toddler napping. The changing table is sanitary and within arm's reach of a sink. A current menu was posted. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher in the facility. The playground is completely fenced and free of hazards. There were no climbing structures observed in the play yard that required fall cushioning. There were no bodies of water observed. The Licensee stated no firearms are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met, 8 toddlers were being supervised by 2 staff. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. At least one staff member present during the inspection possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications, which expire in 06/2023.
