25 | An unannounced random inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Claudia Henley. LPA met with Coordinator of curriculum Kimbra Draper and Heidi Nunes, Senior Director of Early Childhood Education. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors. There are no bodies of water on site, except for a small fish tank. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility is within ratio and capacity during the inspection today. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other dangerous items shall be inaccessible to children. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. Medications are in a safe place inaccessible to children. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All floors are clean and safe. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All kitchen, food prep, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, are in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. Playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around climbing equipment, swings, and slides have bark cushioning material to absorb falls. Before working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. Staff records were reviewed. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric first-aid is present when children are at the facility or at off-site activities. Immunization records are available on staff and staff are current on Mandated Reporter Training. Child records were reviewed. No medication is being given at this time. This is an AM/PM half day state preschool program which operates in rooms 36 and 37 on a traditional school year schedule. The morning session is 8:00am to 11:00am and the afternoon session is 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.This is also a full day preschool program which operates in room 18 on a traditional school year schedule. The hours of operation are 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
