NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 7/14/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco conducted an announced Case Management inspection and met with Director, Diane Callahan. LPA explained the reason for the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The licensee is requesting a decrease in capacity from 78 preschool children to 48 preschool children and will now operate in Classrooms 1, 2 and 5. This program currently operates on a traditional school year schedule from 8:00am, - 2:30pm Monday - Friday except Wednesdays until 12:00pm. Director stated that the program offers breakfast and lunch. The meals are prepared off-site at Richard Moon Elementary school and delivered daily. Ill children will be isolated in the staff offices located in each classroom building but is physically separate from the classrooms and use the bathroom in the administrative office. Cleaning supplies are kept in locked cabinets which are inaccessible to children. The three preschool classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment in those three classrooms appeared to be safe and in good condition. LPA observed that the center has a working carbon monoxide detector installed. LPA observed that there are plenty of tables and chairs, and sleeping mats. LPA observed plenty of age appropriate items & toys. Room measurements in all three classrooms were taken and reviewed with Director. The total inside infant area of all three classrooms measured to an approximate 2,269 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. There are a total of 5 toilets and 7 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity. Facility uses filtered water in sinks from each classroom and staff assist children by dispensing it in to paper cups. The outside square footage was not measured because this is a capacity decrease. Staff will fill an igloo jug with water to provide to children while outdoors. Outside toys and equipment are age appropriate. The outdoor play structure includes a shade component. Additional shade is provided by a covered patio. High climbing play equipment with adequate cushioning was observed. LPA reminded Director to make sure they maintain visual supervision of children at all times. A fire clearance for 48 preschool children was received and granted by the Stanislaus County Fire Department on 6/27/23.
