An unannounced random inspection #3 is made today by LPA Claudia Henley. Met with Director Ana Castellanos. A tour of facility was conducted inside and outside. A tour of the infant/toddler area conducted. There was an installed a working carbon monoxide detector in the infant classroom. The infant indoor and outdoor activity space is physically separate from the space used by other day care children. Infant furniture and equipment, including cribs, cots/mats, and feeding chairs are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded surface no less than one inch thick, covered with washable vinyl or plastic, and have raised sides at least three inches high. The center supplies all of the formula and baby food, in addition to the diapers and wipes. Toys are safe, without sharp points, edges, splinters or small parts that can be pulled off and swallowed. Facility is in compliance with staff infant ratios. All infants including those napping in cribs are under visual observation at all times. Feeding plans reviewed for some infants, Needs and Services plans reviewed for three infants. Fire/disaster drill conducted on June 21, 2019. Playground equipment is in good condition. Adequate shade provided outside. Sign in/Sign out sheets have full legal signature and record of time of day. Staff files were reviewed. Staff are current on immunization and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training. Staff utilized as infant teachers have three child development units in infant/toddler care. An Incidental Medical Services Plan is on file. No medication is currently being given to the infant/toddler children. The child care center days and hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a Migrant Head Start program. The center is open April to November of each year.

Per Title 22 Regulations, no deficiencies were cited today. Site Visit Notice posted on the parent board. Exit interview was conducted.
