25 | On 07/13/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luisa Gavoutian, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA was greeted by assistant Athena Clarke, who accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketches (LIC 999) provided. Licensee was not present at the home during today’s inspection. Present during today’s inspection were three children. The areas of the home that are accessible to the daycare children are the living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, and fenced backyard. “Off-limits” rooms are made inaccessible by child safety gates and doorknob spinners.
One small dog was observed during today’s inspection; Licensee is aware of the safety of children around animals. There are no bodies of water in this home. Assistant stated there are no firearms in this home. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fireplace is inaccessible to children by children’s cubbies placed in front and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, which was last serviced on 06/17/2021. LPA tested the smoke detector and carbon monoxide indicator, which were both in working condition. The home has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Stairs are barricaded when children under age 5 years old are present. Safe toys and play equipment were observed.
There is one crib or play yard for each infant in care, cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Infants up to 12 months of age are placed on their backs for sleeping. (Continued on LIC 809-C) |
