NARRATIVE

During today's inspection, LPA toured facility inside, outside and took a census. Licensee requested preschool capacity increase. Current preschool capacity is 24. Classroom #3 is the new addition for the increase capacity. Licensee is leasing facility from Calvary Baptist Church, who has referred to classroom #3 as room #2 in the paperwork provided. LPA reviewed with director, Stephanie Marroquin, the approximate inside measurements for classroom #3, 323 square feet, which will accommodate 9 preschool children. The new total preschool capacity will be 33. Upon returning to the office, LPA will order a new fire clearance reflecting the new preschool capacity of 33 preschool children. There are 4 toilets and 4 sinks for preschool children. Per director, staff and children arrive at the facility at 7:00 AM. LPA informed director that staff are required to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before children start arriving to ensure the classroom setting and temperature meets children's needs. LPA observed a carbon monoxide in classroom #3. LPA reviewed with director that items should not be stored on top of the storage cabinets to ensure items do not fall on top of children in care. During today's inspection, LPA received an updated facility sketch. Facility has bottled water delivered to facility for children's drinking water. Outside measurements were taken on previous inspection on 12/14/2020. Outside measurements are 5420 which will meet the request capacity of 33 preschool children.

Items to be addressed before licensure:

· Anchor tall equipment and play items in all classrooms - cubbies next to the long brown storage cabinet, the shelving units on both sides of the reading area, white shelving units under the blue wooden open cabinets, and the two play kitchen components.
· New fire clearance reflecting 33 preschool capacity.
· New relocation site during an emergency.

Pending a final file review and completion of above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for the requested capacity of 33 preschool children.

Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. Per director, she is receiving PINS and Quarterly Updates.
