An annual random inspection #3 is being conducted by LPA Claudia Henley. I was met by licensee Ms. Barreto. There were three children present. A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch is provided. There are no "bodies of water" on the premises. There are firearms in this home. The firearm and ammunition was locked separately in a locked cabinet and inaccessible to the children. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fireplace is inaccessible to children and not used during day care. There is a working fire extinguisher, a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and there is adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. There are two small dogs on the premises and they do have access to the children and one small dog tied up in the back of the premises that does not have access to the children. There are also cattle, small birds and chickens on the premises which are made inaccessible to the children by an installed fence. Licensee is aware of the liability when it comes to children around pets. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There is a working telephone. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. This home is located on several acres of open land. Children must be visually 100% supervised at all times when outside in the fenced play area. Licensee will need to supervise the children while walking down and walking back to and from the playground fenced area located on the premises. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Staff-child ratios are maintained. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Pediatric CPR & First/Aid is current until 2/2020. Fire/disaster drill was conducted in June of 2019. Children's files were reviewed. Children's roster is being maintained and current. Licensee current on immunization record. The day care hours and days of operation are: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

No deficiencies were cited. Site Visit Notice posted on the parent board. Exit interview was conducted.
