An unannounced annual/random inspection #3 is made today by LPA Henley. Licensee is present in the home today to ensure children are supervised at all times. Present also was licensee's one biological school age child, six day care children and adult daughter assistant. A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch is provided. Children were spoken to during visit. There is one large dog on the premises outdoors and is inaccessible to the children by a fenced gate. Licensee is aware of the liability when it comes to pets on the premises. No bodies of water on the premises. No firearms in the home. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. No medication is being given at this time. Fireplace is not used during day care hours and inaccessible. There is a working fire extinguisher, a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and there is adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire/disaster drill was conducted April of 2019. There is a working telephone. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. Children are supervised when outside in the fenced backyard play area. Licensee stated that the children are only using the fenced area to the east of the home. The separate fenced area to the west of the home will not be used by the day care children. Licensee stated today that the approved room that is adjacent off the outside patio area is currently not being used by day care children. There is an installed door knob spinner on that door to keep children from having access at this time. Licensee was advised that when this room is ready for use by day care children in the future that she will need to contact the department. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Reviewed children's and two staff files. Licensee is current on immunization. Two staff and four children's files were reviewed. The child care hours/days are: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

No deficiencies were cited today. Site Visit Notice posted. Exit interview was conducted.
