25 | On 09/11/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted a scheduled case management tele-inspection. An in-person inspection was not conducted due to COVID-19 pandemic physical distancing restrictions. LPA connected with Licensee Tanya Spielman via FaceTime. Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Present today were nine children. The purpose of today's inspection was to license the living room and kitchen for daycare use.
LPA toured the living room and kitchen with Licensee’s guidance. Licensee opened all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. LPA observed that all hazardous items were stored in cabinets and drawers equipped with child safety latches or out of reach of children. All knives are stored out of reach of children. LPA observed a fireplace in the living room, which is made inaccessible by a glass screen and a children’s bookshelf placed in front. LPA observed children’s toys, couches, and a table. The living room will be used for the school age children doing distance learning. LPA did not observe any safety or security hazards. Based on LPA's observations, the living room and kitchen are safe and licensed for daycare use effective today. The areas of the home that are accessible to children are the playroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and fenced off portion of the backyard. “Off-limits” rooms are made inaccessible by child safety gates and doorknob spinners.
LPA reminded Licensee that supervision must be maintained at all times.
Licensee to submit an updated LIC 999A - Facility Sketch to Community Care Licensing (CCL) within 30 days.
Per Chapter 3, Division 12, Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations no deficiencies are observed today.
