25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection, Licensee, Horace Turner. Licensee, licensee's roommate and one minor child reside in the home. LPA verified that licensee completed Pediatric CPR/First Aid through Pediatric Plus with EMSA certified stickers and expires on 10/19/2021. Licensee’s Assistant, Maria Bonilla completed CPR/First Aid through Pediatric Plus with EMSA certified stickers and expires on 10/14/2020. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children are background cleared. Fire clearance was granted on December 11, 2019.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on December 16, 2019. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for him to install a fire alarm.
- LPA observed children size furniture, safe toys and books. Also observed two high chairs and a play yard.
- Licensee states he does not have weapons, firearms, ammunition or poisons in the home.
- Facility has 3A40BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
- Licensee is advised at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is to be on site at all times children are present.
