32 | During today’s inspection, LPA observed one infant asleep in a bedroom and the door to the bedroom was closed. Additionally, LPA observed a pillow in the play yard where the infant was sleeping. The infant woke up as soon as LPA and Licensee entered the bedroom. Licensee understands that no loose articles, including pillows and blankets, are allowed in the play yard when an infant under 24 months of age is sleeping and doors to rooms where infants are sleeping must remain open at all times so that Licensee can visually observe the infant without moving the door.
Adequate supervision is being provided during this inspection. LPA observed Licensee and her assistant do not wear face coverings and children age two and older are not taught and reminded to wear face coverings as required by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) COVID-19 guidelines for childcare settings. Children are supervised when outside in the play area and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
There is a working telephone and cellphone number was verified. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files. LPA observed two of the 10 files reviewed did not contain ID and emergency contact information, and five of the 10 did not contain a signed parent’s rights form. LPA reviewed the files of the four infants present and found they did not contain documentation of 15-minute checks during nap. Licensee maintains documentation of immunizations for influenza, pertussis, and measles for herself and staff. Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current expiring on 06/14/2022. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter training certificate was completed on 02/21/2021. Licensee is aware that any authorized employee of the Department may enter and inspect any place providing personal care and services at any time, with or without advanced notice. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday; 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
