25 | A second announced prelicensing inspection as conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Norma Lomeli. Met with Applicant, Tara Weber. The purpose of today's inspection was to inspect that five windows and the glass sliding door that leads to the backyard and have direct access to the in-ground swimming pool and an in-ground spa are inaccessible to the day care children. Also, that the home has a functioning carbon monoxide alarm. During inspection, LPA observed the following:
- Applicant installed an Always Safe pool safety barrier on the in-ground pool and the separate hot tub.
- Applicant states that the day care children will not be allowed on the Always Safe pool safety barrier or inside the pool. Applicant agrees to have the pool safety barrier barricading the body of water during day care hours and/or when caring for day care children. Applicant states that day care children will not have access to the backyard. LPA observed a dead bolt lock installed on the door that leads to the backyard. Applicant states that the door will be kept locked during day care hours.
- Always Safe pool safety barrier meets the requirements of ASTM-F1346-91 and Title 22 Regulations: Section 102417(g)(5)- Operation of a Family Child Care Home. All licensees shall ensure the inaccessibility of pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds and similar bodies of water through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence
- Always Safe Pool Safety Barrier invoice of purchase of the pool safety net cover was provided by applicant to Fresno Regional Child Care office and is on file.
