25 | On 5/18/23 at 3:25 PM, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Helton. At 4:05 PM the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee and assistant were supervising 10 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home include most areas, and were made inaccessible by baby locks. Children are supervised in a converted garage, and come inside the main home through the laundry room doors, to use bathroom. The licensee has added 1 bedroom to the facility "on limits" area for the infants to sleep. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There a in ground pool in the back yard. The pool is fully fenced with Title 22 approved fencing, and separated from the children. 5 children's records were reviewed at 3:30 PM. 2 staff records were reviewed at 3:50 PM. All files were complete.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
