25 | An inspection was made to the facility by LPA, Martinez. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances through the school district. The preschool is located at Brittan Elementary School, Room #27. Days and hours of operation are during the traditional school year, Monday - Friday, morning program, 8:00am - 11:00am, afternoon program, 12:00pm - 3:00pm. This program is operated by a public agency and a Title 5 funded program. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in cabinets located throughout the classroom. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The children’s bathrooms appeared in safe and sanitary condition. A current menu was posted. Food is prepared in the school cafeteria. Food is properly stored and free of contamination. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. There is wood-chip cushioning and grass underneath climbing structures and/or play equipment sufficient to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed. Teacher Jenny Dippel stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and children were being properly supervised. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. Upon entering the Lead teacher stated she did not maintain files in the class room but that they were with the Superintendent. At 8:45 LPA went to the administration office and asked to view the children's files as well as teacher qualifications. The front staff stated they had no way of accessing the files or office since the Superintendent was not available and out for the day. The sign in/out procedure was reviewed and in compliance. This facility is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS).
