25 | An Annual Random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. This is a combination center. The inspection was made in conjunction with the preschool component. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on 5/24/2019 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program is operated by Head Start. The facility operates seasonally between the months of May - October; Monday - Friday; 5:00am - 5:00pm. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and there were six infants supervised by two teachers and one aide. Seven toddlers were supervised by two teachers. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents and cleaning compounds) were inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in janitorial closets and cabinets located throughout the facility. Medications are inaccessible to children. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe for infants and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The changing tables have at least 3" sides and sanitary vinyl pads that are at least 1" thick. There was sufficient napping equipment (port-a-cribs/cribs and mats) available that meet requirements. Current menus are posted on bulletin boards located in each classroom. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The infant and toddler playgrounds were free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. No bodies of water were observed. At least one staff member present during the inspection (S#1) possessed current CPR/First Aid certifications. The sign in/out procedures are in substantial compliance. Six children's records were reviewed at 11:05am and contained medical assessments, individual feeding plans for each infant and Infant Needs and Services Plans. Staff records located at the main office will be reviewed at a later date. The Center Director stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. The infant/toddler program is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS).
