25 | An annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Chris Krogstad. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. A review of the personnel report on 7/18/19 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
The facility’s operating hours are 6:30am - 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. This is a combination infant/preschool licensed center. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The preschool operates in three separate classrooms. Infants have their own classroom and napping area. There are also separate preschool and infant outside yards. There were no items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) observed accessible to children. Poisons are locked in a storage closet. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces are age appropriate, clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. The changing tables meet Title 22 requirements with sanitary vinyl pads. Bottles are prepared on site. Food and formula was observed to be properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Bottles were properly labeled and sanitary. There was no contaminated food observed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas were in safe condition. There is fall mat cushioning under play structures. There were no bodies of water observed on the property. The lead teacher stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, infant staffing ratios were being met. Eight infants were being supervised by one infant teacher and three aides. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. At least one staff member present during the visit possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications. Infant Needs and Services documentation were updated and in substantial compliance. See LIC 809C for continuation report. |
