25 | On 7/21/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Theresa Marquez and Miguel Herrera conducted a Case Management inspection and met with Director Valecia Garcia.
Teacher Flora was also present.
The purpose of this inspection is in regards to a concern with stray cats on the premises.
Director Garcia stated she was feeding the stray cats, but stopped about 6 months ago at the instruction of her supervisor Maritza Lopez. Director Garcia stated she has been in contacted with Animal Control and the Ferral Cat Coalition and various other agencies to assist with the stray cats, but found no permanent solution. Garcia continued to provide water for the cats due to the heat.
During today's inspection, LPAs Marquez and Herrera did not observed any cats on our around the premises. LPAs inspected the outside playground, including the mulch area. LPAs observed a few dried cat feces near the west side vinyl fence, behind the swing structure. Again, Director stated that she is no longer feeding the stray cats and took initiative to remove the few dried cat feces observed by LPAs during todays inspection. Garia will continue to inspect the play yard area each morning before children arrive and through out the operating hours of day care.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1 of the California Code of Regulations no deficiencies were observed today.
An exit interview was conducted with Director Valecia Garcia. Garcia was provided a copy of the Facility Evaluation Report (LIC 809), the Appeal Rights and the Notice of Site Visit form. The Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days. |
