25 | On 7/7/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ruby Ocegueda and Nancy Her conducted a case management inspection to address and discuss the space that would be used for the school aged children. LPA’s met with licensee/owner Tina Watson, took a census and toured the facility. LPAs also took room and yard measurements.
Although licensee currently does not have school aged children enrolled and is not utilizing the school aged license, LPA’s requested an indication as to where school aged children would be cared for. When LPAs reviewed all facility sketches that were submitted, there are two different sketches where the middle classroom area is labeled with “school aged” "pre-school" and the other sketch is labeled as “class”. Licensee stated she has the school aged license in case school aged children would attend during the Summer/vacation months. LPAs reviewed the following regulation: 101538.3 (b) which states “In combination programs, indoor activity space provided for school-age childcare center children shall be physically separated from space provided for infant care and child center children”.
Licensee is requesting an in-office meeting with managerial staff to discuss the regulations and possible options for waivers. LPAs advised Licensee that once a date has been set, LPA Ocegueda will inform Licensee of date and time.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited.
