25 | On 01/30/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Penate conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection and met with Director, Erika Rosique. LPA explained the reason for the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The licensee is requesting to add an additional classroom to the toddler component, the current toddler option program will be licensed for 155 preschool/toddler children. This facility runs year around, Monday-Friday 5:00AM to 5:00PM. Currently the toddler class utilizes one classroom: #803. On todays inspection LPA inspected classroom #804 to be utilized by additional toddler component children. The facility offers breakfast, lunch and a PM snack, that are delivered from elementary cafeteria. Ill children and staff will utilize the staff bathroom. Ill children will be isolated in the director’s office until picked up by their parent or legal guardian. Cleaning supplies are kept in inaccessible areas in all classrooms.
All classrooms appeared to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment in the classrooms appeared to be safe and in good condition. LPA observed that the center has a working carbon monoxide detector installed. LPA observed that there are plenty of tables, chairs, cubbies, sleeping cots/mats. Classroom items and toys appeared to be age appropriate.
Room measurements in classroom #804 were taken and reviewed with Director. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 522 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 14 Toddler children for classroom #804. There is a total of 1 toilets, and 1 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate 14 Toddler/Preschool children. The outside square footage measured to an approximate 3,700 square feet which will accommodate up to 49 preschool children. Director does not need to submit a waiver regarding the outdoor activity space. Outside toys and equipment appeared to be age appropriate. Adequate shade is available in the outdoor activity area. Facility is utilizing synthetic turf to provide adequate cushioning for high climbing equipment. LPA reminded Director to make sure they have visual supervision of children at all times.
