25 | On 04/10/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Pizano conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with Director, Olivia Wobrock toured the facility, and took a census. The purpose of today’s inspection was to discuss an incident that was reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL) on 04/08/2024.
Director stated that on 03/14/2024 there were 11 children and 2 teachers in the reading & writing room. Teacher 1 was attending to children and cleaning their noses and Teacher 2 was helping another child when she heard Child 1 start to cry. Child 2 wanted a toy that Child 1 had, Child 2 did not use her words as Child 2 is non-verbal, and bit Child 1 in the finger breaking the skin. Teacher 2 administered First aid and Child 1’s parent was notified. Child 1 returned to care the following day. LPA discussed supervision at the time of the incident, and it was determined that appropriate supervision was in place. Staff will continue to always monitor children and ensures to follow procedures listed in Parent Handbook with redirecting children. LPA inspected the area where the incident took place and did not observe any safety hazards or areas of concern.
This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address the child’s injury, following appropriate policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
No deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.
A copy of this report to be made available to the public upon request.
