25 | On 2/17/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted an unannounced Plan of Correction Inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to verify the plan of corrections had been completed as it pertained to the deficiencies cited on 1/13/2023 (see 9099 and 9099-D page dated 1/13/2023). LPA toured the facility and took a census.
Today, LPA Ocegueda observed that stuffed animals and dolls on a rack near the door remained stained and appeared dirty. Licensee stated she washed some of the toys. Upon arrival there was toys on the ground and chairs were scattered. The children's sized counter that is attached to the wall had food stains that licensee wiped up so that LPA could use. There was other debris on the counter. The kitchen counter that is accessible when children walk to the bathroom and where licensee cooks children’s, had multiple cleaning products and food that was on the counters. It was difficult to see the counters. One highchairs had multiple stains on the plastic and did not have the appearance of being regularly cleaned and disinfected. A second highchair also had multiple stains on the plastic and had multiple items on top of it. The restroom that is used by day care children was clean and orderly.
Licensee stated she empties the diaper pale on a daily basis now to avoid any odor in the facility and LPA collected a written statement from licensee that discussed her understanding on maintaining confidentiality of children in care per the deficiency cited on 1/13/2023.
Today, licensee stated she would remove any stained toys and stuffed animals. After washing, if toys remained stained, dirty or broken, she will remove them from the day care room and not allow children to play with them. Licensee stated she would clean and disinfect all counters (both counters in the day care room and all counters in the kitchen). All counters should remain clean and orderly free of clutter and debris during day care hours. Licensee will place cleaning supplies, medication, and other potentially dangerous items in an inaccessible area at all times. Today, Licensee removed these items under an inaccessible cabinet. Licensee understands that poisons should be locked. LPA reviewed potentially dangerous items with licensee. Report continued to 809-C.
