25 | On 3/8/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA Ocegueda toured the home and took a census. LPA met with Katherine Owens. Upon arrival, LPA observed an adult female (adult #1) in the home. The adult female had a child and licensee stated she was a parent who was interviewing her for possible day care services.
During the inspection, LPA observed that licensee and the adult #1 female did not discuss any services and discussed other unrelated topics and it was evident that the female was visiting with licensee. The adult female did not provide any care and supervision to the children and left the home after about 30 minutes. Adult #1 appeared to be familiar with licensee and the home.
After adult #1 left, LPA Ocegueda discussed accepting visitors in the home and that although adult #1 was not providing care and supervision today, eventually a situation might come about that would compel adult #1 to assist licensee (even momentarily). Licensee stated she understood. Licensee stated that adult #1 was trying to get her child acquainted today.
LPA discussed that it was best practice to avoid visitors during day care hours as this could come in the way of licensee providing optimal care and supervision to the children as required. LPA explained that anyone that provides care and supervision should receive a criminal record clearance through the Department.
Licensee stated she understood and would avoid having any parent visit during day care hours. An exit interview was conducted with licensee Katherine Owens.
Per Chapter 3, Division 12, Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations no deficiencies were were cited today.
