25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Martinez conducted an unannounced required one year inspection. LPA met with licensee Yessenia Gonzalez. Also present was daughter/assistant Nicole Gonzalez. Two day care children were present today. LPA conducted an interior and exterior tour of the home. Care and supervision is provided in the day care room (converted garage) that is accessed from the front of the property through a side entrance separate from main entrance. The accessible rooms are the day care room and the hallway bathroom. Children are escorted to bathroom. Day care room is large with carpeting, child size furniture, bookshelves, cubbies, and one crib. Safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment were observed. Also observed were safe toys, play equipment, and materials. In the backyard, license has one small dog that is inaccessible to day care children. Licensee is aware of the safety of children around animals. Swimming pool in the backyard is fenced per regulation. The backyard will remain off-limits to day care children. Children have access to the fenced front yard. There are no firearms in this home. No poisons were observed on the premises. Cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. A mobile electric fireplace in living room is inaccessible to children and is not used during day care hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide indicator, and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone and number was verified. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. A current roster of the children in care is maintained. Licensee maintains documentation of immunizations for the children. Licensee maintains documentation of immunizations against pertussis, measles and influenza for herself and assistants. Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current with an expiration date of 8/23/21.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are not currently being provided. Licensee is aware that when any IMS is provided, a plan for providing IMS must be submitted to the licensing office.
