25 | On 7/13/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruby Ocegueda, conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Socorro Govea. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. The purpose of today's inspection was to inspect the inaccessibility of the above ground pool in the backyard.
The above ground pool measures four feet in height and is in the back yard. There is a pool fence that surrounds the pool. There were two pool gates that were self-latching, self-closing and open away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. LPA measured the pool fence all around and it was observed that some areas of the pool gate did not meet the 5 ft height requirement. Some areas were 4 ft 10 inches or 4 ft 11 inches. Licensee and assistant/husband confirmed the observation. Assistant/Husband stated he would raise the fence to ensure it met the height requirement all around. Licensee stated she would submit proof of the fence meeting the height requirement to the Department. Currently there is no water in the pool and licensee stated she would not put water in the pool until the fence was approved. LPA advised that although there is a pool fence, she should maintain any pool ladders off the pool as an extra safety measure. LPA also advised that there should be no play equipment that children could climb on next to the pool fence.
In addition, LPA discussed submitting a newly updated facility sketch to show the the newly approved bathroom (per case management report dated 5/19/2023). The sketch should also reflect the pool and fence in the back yard. Report continued to 809-C
