25 | On 10/27/21, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jessika Thompson met with Director Christine Hernandez for an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA toured the facility and a census was taken. The purpose of this inspection was to address the facility's disciplinary procedures.
The Fresno Community Care Licensing Office was recently made aware of several incidents occurring at the facility pertaining to a child in care exhibiting challenging behavior on an ongoing basis. It was reported that the child has hit other children, yelled at staff, and disrupted classroom activities. The facility's director, Christine Hernandez, indicated that the current method of discipline used by staff is re-direction; however, LPA determined that the licensee has failed to establish a formal policy addressing how staff will handle children that exhibit challenging and/or inappropriate behavior, as required.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, the following deficiency is cited (see LIC809-D):
An exit interview was conducted with Director Hernandez. A Notice of Site Visit Form was posted on parent's board and must remain posted for 30 days. |
