Amy stated that bedding/sheets get sent home to parents to get washed every week on Friday. Amy stated that if parents forget, they have spares stored in the office if needed. There is a total of 4 toilets and 3 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the newly requested capacity of 25 preschool children. Amy stated that she will use water jugs with disposable cups for drinking water in each classroom. Children are allowed to bring their own water bottles. There is a water fountain in the red room but due to Covid, it’s not going to be used. Water jugs will be used for the outside play area as well.
The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 7,658 which will accommodate the newly requested capacity of 25 Preschool Children. The backyard preschool play area has a wooden fence all around. LPA observed a patio and age appropriate toys. LPA observed a pool in the neighbors yard which does not have a fence around it. Amy's wooden fence has wooden slats going horizontal which can potentially be used as steps. LPA advised Amy to fix the fence to potentially prevent a child from climbing over and having access to the neighbors built in pool. Amy stated that she will install plywood all around the fence and make sure the fence is sturdy. LPA observed protruding nails on the wooden fence and some broken slats which will need to be replaced. The front yard is fenced all around. LPA observed a small slide and swing set that needs to be repainted since rust is showing. Amy stated that she will remove the ruber chips and add wood chips underneath those structures to cushion the fall zones. Amy stated she will cover the holes made by gophers with dirt. Amy stated that she will add shade (Pergula) in the front yard as there is none at the moment. The garage is used as a storage for all children's equipment. LPA reminded Amy to provide adequate supervision at all times.
A fire clearance for 30 preschool children was received and granted by the City of Visalia Fire Department on 12/11/2020. A new fire clearance will be sent out to accommodate the newly requested capacity of 25 preschool children.
