25 | On Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Irma Magallon. Licensee is Spanish Speaking and LPA Ocegueda assisted with interpretation. Days and hours of operation are 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, one hall bathroom, first bedroom to right of hallway and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door knob safety covers. Upon arrival, LPA observed a walker in the facility, licensee indicated that it was dropped off by a parent but not used. Licensee removed it. LPA also observed that a child had been dropped off in a car seat and licensee did not remove the infant immediately. Licensee was taking files out for LPA and searching for document, while the infant remained in the car seat, and LPA advised that infants should be removed from car seats immediately after arriving. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 559-202-9067.
LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Provider physically checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes and LPA discussed the requirement to document any signs of distress which includes but is not limited to flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing. Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room. Report continued to 809-C |
