25 | On 6/29/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted a case management inspection for the purposes of inspecting the off-limits back yard. Licensee has enrolled children as of 6/28/2022, however there were no children present today.
During the inspection of the currently off-limits back yard, LPA observed that the rod iron gate had been partially covered with decorative material (bamboo privacy screen). Per licensee there has been no water in the in-ground pool since approximately 12 years ago. There is dirt and large vegetation growing in the pool hole. The decorative cover still allows for visual observation of inside the pool area but is inaccessible and when tested on 4/22/2022, the pool gate was self-closing and self-latching. Licensee was advised that if there is ever a collection of water in the pool, she will be required to take the decorative bamboo cover off of the gate per the regulation requirements. LPA reviewed regulations related to inaccessibility of pools and bodies of water.
Also observed today towards the back of the off-limits yard was a door that was leading into an attached storage shed. The door to the storage shed had peeling layers of wood and was rough to the touch. The licensee stated she was currently working on improving her back yard and the dirt was loosened for recent grass seed planting. There was a large hole in the dirt near a corner exposing a plastic pipe. There was also a box of debris that licensee stated she was going to throw out. Licensee stated she would either cover the hole, throw out the box of debris, and repair the door to the shed or place a gate that would make that part of the yard inaccessible. Today, the back yard was not approved for care. Licensee will send proof of corrections to the Department for review and approval before she uses the back yard for care again.
