On 10/7/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Elvira Gamboa. Also present was Staff #2 (S2) and Staff #3 (S3). Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM and some Saturdays as arranged.

LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the day care room and one adjacent bathroom are used for providing care. Today, LPA observed that a sliding glass door that leads to a bedroom was unlocked. Licensee stated it is usually locked and licensee locked the door today. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.

The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a locked door and will not be in use during daycare hours. The fire extinguisher in the home was the wrong size (1-A-10-BC instead of a the larger required 2-A-10-BC). The smoke detector inside the day care room was tested and functioning and another alarm inside the main home which licensee identified as a carbon monoxide detector was tested and functioning today. There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 559-781-0971.

LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee. LPA observed multiple play pens to accommodate each infant in care today. LPA observed that infant #1 was sleeping inside a recalled Fisher Rock and Play Sleeper and then when moved to a play pen, there was a blanket with infant #1 while he/she slept. Infants were not swaddled while in care today. Provider physically checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes and documents any signs of distress which includes but is not limited to flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing.
