On 08/29/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Ruby Ocegueda conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee Irma Gutierrez. Also present were licensee’s adult daughter and licensee’s assistant. Licensee is Spanish Speaking and LPA conducted the inspection in both English and Spanish. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the day the care room, office, and one adjacent bathroom in the office area and and enclosed space in the back yard are accessible. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by door knob spinners.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the day care room and is made inaccessible by a metal screen and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 306-4363.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Report continued 809-C
