25 | On 6/14/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted an unannounced case management inspection to address an Unusual Incident that was reported to the Department by licensee on 4/13/2023. Today, LPA met with licensee Angelica Sisneros, toured the home and took a census.
Licensee has the first floor as accessible but primarily uses the front living room for care and supervision and she is currently the only person who cares for day care children. The incident reported on 4/13/2023, was regarding child #1 saying something inappropriate in nature to child #2 who is no longer in care. LPA indicated today that child #1 is not left alone with the children in care. Licensee stated that she often discusses what appropriate behavior and language is expected of all children in her home and in care. Per licensee, the incident took place on or about the last week of March 2023 while she was transporting children. Although licensee did not hear the comment in the moment, she later found out that she was present when the comment was made.
Licensee stated she has since spoken to child #1 about his/her comment and addressed the behavior immediately with him/her. Licensee immediately told the parent of child #2 during pick up and reported the incident the Licensing Department as required. Licensee continues to supervise the children while at the facility and while transporting the children. Licensee stated she will be more mindful of what children are saying to each other during the day and continue to remind them of appropriate language and behavior. LPA reviewed personal rights and supervision.
Facility met all reporting requirements as specified in Title 22 Regulation 101212 - Reporting Requirements. The incident is an isolated incident and not a result of lack of care and supervision.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiency was cited today. An exit interview was conducted with licensee Angelica Sisneros. This report is to be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days. |
