25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ana Tolentino made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting an Annual Random Inspection. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to Director Denise Adkins and together we tour indoor and outdoor space. The center operates in four classrooms from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
Center uses four classrooms and the outside activity areas for day-care. Children observed to be supervised by qualified staff. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. LPA reviewed the posted snack menu, children bring their own lunch. Kitchen, food preparation, storage area are kept clean, free of litter. Furniture and equipment is in good repair and age appropriate. The outdoor playground has age appropriate toys and equipment. The areas around high climbing equipment have cushioned material to absorb any falls. Toilets and hand washing are in sanitary condition. Trash cans have tight fitting covers. Drinking water is available both inside and outside. Sign in/Sign out records were reviewed and meet regulation requirements and matched census. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Teachers have required qualification. Teachers present have current First Aid/CPR certificates. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) The center currently does not have children with IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
